Gigante Sells for $610,000 in Digital Flash Sale
Gigante, a Grade 2 winning millionaire by Not This Time, sold for $610,000 to Clark Brewster & L and N Racing in a one-horse flash sale on Fasig-Tipton Digital. The five-year-old multiple stakes winner was consigned as a horse of racing age by Lane’s End, agent, from his stable at Fair Grounds in New Orleans, Louisiana. Bidding for Gigante began on Monday, January 27 at 12 PM ET, and closed Friday at 12 PM ET.
“Fasig-Tipton showed us once again how a quality horse is well received by the market on their digital platform,” said Allaire Ryan, Sales Coordinator for Lane’s End. “The flash sale provided an efficient, customized opportunity for us to offer Gigante on behalf of his owners, and he is an exciting, turnkey prospect for his new racing connections. Bidding was healthy from start to finish and we are grateful to the Fasig Digital team for facilitating a fantastic sale.”
A stakes winner every year from 2 to 5, Gigante won the Colonel E. R. Bradley S. and the Buddy Diliberto Memorial S. in his two most recent starts. A multiple graded stakes performer, Gigante captured the 2023 Secretariat S. (G2) at Colonial Downs. To date, he has earned $1,187,650 from a record of 19-8-1-2.
“The Gigante Flash Sale produced a ‘home run’ result,” said Leif Aaron, Fasig-Tipton Director of Digital Sales. “With bidders from multiple continents, the international reach of our platform was on full display once again. Gigante’s $610,000 sale comes on the heels of selling Tuscan Sky for $450,000 a couple weeks ago, proving that Fasig-Tipton Digital is the number one digital platform to sell a racehorse.”
Over the course of the sale, 1,793 unique potential buyers looked at Gigante’s page more than 10,000 times.
The next scheduled sale on Fasig-Tipton Digital is the February Digital Sale, which opens February 20 and closes February 25. Nominations close February 5.
