Pure Purity Raises $35,000 for Ann Hanley’s Parkinson’s Research Fund
Multiple stakes placed winner PURE PURITY sold for $35,000 early at the Kentucky Winter Mixed sale, with 100% of proceeds to benefit the Ann Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund (video). Offered as Hip 289 by James B. Keogh (Grovendale), agent for Ann Hanley (Parkinson’s Research Fund), PURE PURITY was purchased as a broodmare prospect by Cherrybrook Farm.
A winner at 2, 3, 4, and 5, PURE PURITY racked up five victories in Canada, and placed in the La Prevoyante S. and Eternal Search S. as a sophomore. She earned $182,413 in 27 lifetime starts for owners Calico Racing Stable and Gary McMaster and trainer Norman McKnight.
Established in 2015, the Ann Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund supports the work research team led by Dr. Greg Gerhardt and Dr. Craig van Horne at the University of Kentucky in developing a new surgical technique to reduce the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
