OXO Equine Buys NY Bred Sale Record Malibu Moon Filly for $775,000

Hip 592, a filly by Malibu Moon, sold for a sale-record $775,000 during the second session of the New York Bred Yearlings sale. The bay filly was purchased by OXO Equine LLC from the consignment of Winter Quarter Farm, agent for Oak Bluff Stable LLC. The price eclipsed the record price set last year when a colt by Pioneerof the Nile sold for $600,000.

The filly is by proven sire Malibu Moon, sire of top fillies like Life At Ten, Carina Mia, and Moonshine Memories. She is the second foal out of the winning Street Sense mare Savvy Sassy, a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Southdale and to the dam of graded stakes winner Plainsman. This is the immediate family of Broodmare of the Year Fleet Courage and her course record-setting multiple graded stakes winning son Iron Courage.

Hip 592 was bred in New York by Oak Bluff Stables, LLC & Christophe Clement.
