Maclean's Music Filly Sells for $280,000
Hip 1040, a filly by Maclean's Music, sold for $280,000 during the third session of the Kentucky October Yearlings sale. The chestnut filly was purchased by JCM Racing from the consignment of Eaton Sales, agent.
Maclean's Music came out of the gate hot, with Preakness S. (G1) winner Cloud Computing in his first crop. He has since added two Champagne S. (G1) winners to his resume: 2018 victor Complexity, who also captured the Kelso H. (G2) earlier this month; and undefeated multiple Grade 1 winning two-year-old of 2020 Jackie's Warrior, who also won the Hopeful S. (G1) and Saratoga Special S. (G2) this summer. Maclean's Music is also the sire of current stakes winning fillies Lead Guitar and She Likes to Party.
This filly is out of the multiple stakes placed Touch Gold mare Wind Caper, making her a half -sister to four winners, including: stakes placed Travelling Midas (Quality Road); 13-time winner Terry's Charm (Quality Road); and three-time winners Spellker (City Zip) and Lookin At Roses (Lookin At Lucky). She is also a half-sister to Defunded (Dialed In), who is placed in one start at two since the catalogue. The immediate family includes graded stakes winner Reunited, dam of multiple Grade 1 winner Code of Honor.
Hip 1040 was bred in Kentucky by Athens Woods LLC.
