Samara Sells for $135,000

Samara, a six-year-old daughter of Hard Spun, sold for $135,000 during the first session of the Kentucky Winter Mixed sale. Offered as Hip 244, the mare was purchased as a broodmare prospect by Joseph DiRico, Jack Harvey, agent from the consignment of Brookdale Sales, agent.

Winner of last year's Captiva Island S., Samara tallied five wins in her career and earnings $182,671. She is a half-sister to four other winners out of the unraced Storm Cat mare Smara. The immediate family includes champion filly Outstandingly, as well as Grade 1 winners Sky Mesa and Maxfield.
