Runhappy Filly Sells for $125,000
Hip 592, a filly from the second crop of champion sprinter Runhappy, sold for $125,000 during the second session of the Kentucky Winter Mixed sale. The bay filly was purchased by James R. Layden, agent from the consignment of St George Sales, agent.
Runhappy, whose first foals are two this year, was track record-setting winner of the 2015 Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) and that year's Eclipse Champion Male Sprinter.
This filly is out of the stakes winning Bob and John mare Fast Resource, already the dam of two winners from two to race. The immediate family includes Broodmare of the Year Leslie's Lady and her Grade 1 winning offspring three-time Eclipse Champion Beholder; Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) winner Mendelssohn; and Grade 1 winner and 2019 Leading Sire Into Mischief.
Hip 592 was bred in Kentucky by Peter A. Berglar Racing Interests LLC.
