Breeders' Cup Champion Rushing Fall Sells for $5,500,000

Breeders' Cup champion and five-time Grade 1 winner Rushing Fall (Hip 205) sold for $5,500,000 at The November Sale. She was purchased by Jamie McCalmont, agent for M.V. Magnier from the consignment of Indian Creek, agent.

Ten times a graded stakes winner, Rushing Fall's first Grade 1 score came in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) at two. At three, she added the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup S. (G1), and at four, she won the Jenny Wiley S. (G1) and Just a Game S. (G1). This year at five, she defended her title in the Jenny Wiley S. (G1) in style, covering the 1 1/16 miles on the turf in a track record 1:39.02. Rushing Fall was a Grade 1 winner at two, three, four, and five, a feat previously accomplished by only two other mares – Lady Eli and Beholder.

Rushing Fall won 11 of her 15 career starts, with three second place finishes, and earned $2,893,000. She was campaigned by owner e Five Racing Thoroughbreds and trainer Chad Brown.

By successful international sire More Than Ready, Rushing Fall is a half-sister to four other winners, including stakes winner Milam (Street Sense). She is also half-sister to Homecoming Dance (Vindication), who has produced four winners to date, including stakes winner Empire Line and graded stakes placed Hang a Star. The immediate family includes Grade 1 winning millionaire Albert the Great.
